I. Introduction to the School

Literature and Media School is in the development of Chinese Language and Literature Department of Yunnan Minzu university that is established at the beginning of growing up on one of the old academic departments, and it is running the oldest large-scale discipline, which has strong basic conditions and enjoy a good social reputation of the school entity.

In 1956, Literature and Media School has founded just for five years, which is mainly responsible for short-term training of minority cadres in rotation task Yunnan Institute for Nationalities, in the formation of minority language section that is opened while the two-year Chinese language courses, until 1964, there are total 1306 people graduated from Chinese language classes. In March 1972, it was revoked after being included in the Yunnan Nationalities Institute to restore the country's general institutions of higher learning sequence and formally established the Department of Languages. Under the Chinese language professional, it has embarked on a professional teaching path that is difficult to explore; in December 1977, the Chinese Language Department of Yunnan Minzu university reopened after the first four-year undergraduate students enrolled; on December 31, 1983, the Committee approved the preparation of Yunnan Nationalities Institute was renamed the Department of Chinese Language and Literature Department of Chinese Language. After a long period of development, in June 2002, Yunnan Minzu University held its second congress, which has adjust to the school system and establish the School system and the formation of 15 School (Department), Chinese Language and Literature Department of Literature then changed its name to the news School of Communication; in June 2007, the school decided to merge Literature and Journalism School of Humanities original history, ethnology, sociology and other disciplines to establish a new School of Humanities; June 2015, according to the seventh secondary school Teachers' Congress examined and adopted the "Yunnan Minzu University three program", the school once again decided to withdraw into School of Humanities ,School of Humanities, School of Literature and Media, and take the original philosophy and politics philosophy, ethics, religion professional schools placed under the School of Humanities, the original Chinese international Education undergraduate and professional master's Literature and media school was placed under the international School.

One reason from another, despite wind and rain, along with 60 years of heavy historical footsteps, Literature and Media Institute from small to large and from weak to strong, a few changes of its name, sort of a few together, continue to move forward. Literature and Media School is divided into Chinese language and literature, radio and television, advertising, new media and other networks and four undergraduate majors; Master of Chinese language and literature has authorized level discipline points, awarding folklore, literary theory, ancient Chinese literature, Chinese Contemporary six academic master's degree in Literature, Comparative Literature and World Literature, Chinese philology. Now it is establishing the construction of Chinese language and literature doctoral level disciplines which is authorized point to support the "Master of Journalism and Communication" professional master's degree. So far, the relentless pursuit of the struggle of Literature and Media Institute has been formed to regard undergraduate education, graduate education as the focus of the multi level, multi-disciplinary comprehensive personnel training system.

School teaching condition is good, with advanced multimedia classrooms, computer rooms, language lab, broadcasting television cameras for laboratory, photography, video editing lab, laboratory, other professional nonlinear editing laboratory and a wealth of books and periodicals reference room. The academy has with the United States, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos and other countries and Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and other regions of universities and academic institutions to establish a cooperation and exchange relations with Orient Thai University and other foreign universities recognize each other credits and diploma. Currently, there are more than 1,200 full-time students, including 1100 undergraduates and 100 graduates a total staff of 56 people, including 10 professors, 22 associate professor who holds a doctorate of 26 teachers, mostly school have achieved fruitful results, the impact of a wide range of experts and scholars. This prime of life, experienced, reasonable structure of the teaching staff, in addition to the full completion of teaching tasks, also assumed the task of teaching the school "School Chinese" and other public courses.

For more than 60 years, the School actively grasps the theory of dynamic domestic and foreign universities and literary journalism education, which is committed to developing high professional standards and the overall quality of a good senior professional, has transported nearly 20,000 personnel training for the community. Graduates spread all over the province and outside the party and government organs, institutions and culture of teaching and research, exhibition, advertising, journalism, publishing, trade, mines and other enterprises and institutions, many of them have grown into outstanding leading cadres, well-known experts, scholars and business unit where backbone. Some graduates enrolled in master's or doctoral Peking University, Nanjing University, Renmin University of China Communication University of China, Fudan University, Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing Normal University, Xiamen University, the Central Nationalities University and other Schools and universities; some served CCTV, Xinhua News Agency, "Wen Wei Po" and other well-known media correspondents. The rate of 2014 year-end undergraduate and graduate employment is above 98%.
